Set within a distinguished historic building in the heart of Milan, this one-bedroom apartment has been thoughtfully reimagined to celebrate both its heritage and contemporary way of living. Subtle interventions and selective demolitions have transformed the original layout, creating a more fluid sequence of spaces and a generous entrance enriched with bespoke integrated storage.
The project’s defining moment emerged during construction, when the removal of existing finishes revealed an exquisite original graniglia floor hidden beneath. This unexpected discovery became the foundation of the design narrative. Carefully restored and preserved, the historic marble graniglia now flows alongside contemporary terrazzo surfaces, establishing a dialogue between past and present.
A restrained material palette and refined detailing allow the character of the original architecture to take centre stage, creating a home that feels both timeless and distinctly modern - a quiet celebration of Milanese craftsmanship and enduring elegance.
